A British media outlet, Basketball 24/7, has done an interview with Joel Freeland. Here is the link to the podcast. I have also done my best to take down the interview (loosely) for you to read in part.
INTERVIEW
Joel: “I feel that I have progressed over these two years (since being drafted by Portland) and it obviously shows. When I’m on the court Im a lot more comfortable. I can feel it with the players because I used to feel lost.”
Q: You go back to a couple of years ago, how surprised were you to be drafted by Portland?
Joel: “Yah it was surprising, but I worked real hard and had been in contact with a lot of NBA teams… I think it was a good decision to say in (the draft) and I think its worked out”
Q: When you talk to Portland, is it excited to see that you have 12 months left on your contract and then possibly going to the NBA.
Joel: “Weather I go to the NBA or not will depend on if I am ready but I think I am getting ready… I think I would only know if I felt ready if I was over there and in that situation. I think I will be able to get more of an idea if I am over there. I don’t know if it is that much of a step to move up to the NBA. Twelve months time might be a bit to soon but you never know.”
Q: What is the target for this season?
Joel: “I want to be around the 12-15 minutes in the ACB. That way I can get my stats and experiences up.
Random Though
Joel: “You got the Portland weather kind of similar to London”
